End-to-End Hard Seltzer Manufacturing

A good hard seltzer starts with a clean base. We filter sugar brew, malt, or spirit bases until they're close to neutral, then build light flavors that stay crisp from the first can in the case to the last.

Your Path From Concept to Commercial Scale

Whether you're just getting started or preparing for national distribution, MetaBrand provides a clear manufacturing pathway that grows alongside your business.

  1. Path 1

    Hero Samples

Hero Samples are professionally produced, non-saleable proof-of-concept units designed to support early-stage business development. These samples are packaged in your branded container and intended for investor presentations, retailer meetings, influencer outreach, and strategic sales conversations. Hero Samples allow brands to begin generating market interest and securing commercial opportunities before committing to production inventory.

  2. Path 2

    Pilot Manufacturing

Pilot manufacturing runs are smaller production batches built to validate your concept in the market. A pilot run gets your product onto shelves and into consumers' hands without committing to a truckload. Brands use pilot runs for regional distribution trials, retailer sell-in tests, and to confirm that every input works before they scale.

  3. Path 3

    Mid-Tier / Early Scale Co-Packing

Consumers like your product, you've signed two or three distributors in your region, and you're ready to build your first full truckload. Production moves to more automated equipment, so your cost of goods starts to make sense while you still keep cash and inventory in check.

  4. Path 4

    High-Volume Production

High-volume production is for established brands that need millions of units. Your product sells nationwide or through a few major retailers, and you reorder by the truckload for each SKU on a regular schedule. MetaBrand manages production planning, vendor coordination, and finished product quality control.

Hard Seltzer FAQ

What is hard seltzer made from?

Carbonated water, alcohol, and flavor, usually with very little sugar. The alcohol typically comes from fermented cane sugar (a sugar brew), a malt base, or a distilled spirit. Your choice of base determines how the seltzer is taxed and labeled.

What ABV should my hard seltzer be?

Most hard seltzers on shelf land between 4% and 6% ABV. Higher-strength versions exist, but a stronger drink is harder to keep tasting clean and may be taxed or restricted differently in some states.

How do you get a clean alcohol base for hard seltzer?

Filtration. A sugar brew straight out of fermentation can taste yeasty or cidery, and those notes will bury a delicate fruit flavor. We filter the base until it's close to neutral, then build the flavor system on top of it.

Can I make a zero-sugar or low-calorie hard seltzer?

Yes. We can formulate with no sugar at all, with alternative sweeteners, or with a small amount of real sugar. Any calorie or carb number on your label has to be accurate under TTB labeling rules, so we check those claims during development.

What's the difference between hard seltzer and an RTD cocktail?

Hard seltzer is light and lightly flavored. An RTD cocktail tries to recreate a specific mixed drink, so it usually has fuller flavor, more sweetness, and often a higher ABV. Plenty of brands launch with one and add the other later.

Can you help me build a hard seltzer variety pack?

Yes. We develop each flavor on a shared base so the production runs stay efficient, and we plan the carton or carrier alongside the liquid so the pack is ready for retail.
