Why Choose Sustainable Packaging

The most sustainable package depends on your product and how far it travels. Aluminum is light and widely recycled; glass is recyclable but heavy; PET is light but recycled at lower rates. We compare the options against your distribution routes and show you the cost before you decide.

The Advantages of Sustainable Packaging

Recycled Content

Recycled PET, recycled-content aluminum, and recycled paperboard are available for most formats.

Lighter Shipping

Lighter materials and fewer components cut freight weight and emissions.

Your Path From Concept to Commercial Scale

Whether you're just getting started or preparing for national distribution, MetaBrand provides a clear manufacturing pathway that grows alongside your business.

  1. Path 1

    Hero Samples

Hero Samples are professionally produced, non-saleable proof-of-concept units designed to support early-stage business development. These samples are packaged in your branded container and intended for investor presentations, retailer meetings, influencer outreach, and strategic sales conversations. Hero Samples allow brands to begin generating market interest and securing commercial opportunities before committing to production inventory.

  2. Path 2

    Pilot Manufacturing

Pilot manufacturing runs are smaller production batches built to validate your concept in the market. A pilot run gets your product onto shelves and into consumers' hands without committing to a truckload. Brands use pilot runs for regional distribution trials, retailer sell-in tests, and to confirm that every input works before they scale.

  3. Path 3

    Mid-Tier / Early Scale Co-Packing

Consumers like your product, you've signed two or three distributors in your region, and you're ready to build your first full truckload. Production moves to more automated equipment, so your cost of goods starts to make sense while you still keep cash and inventory in check.

  4. Path 4

    High-Volume Production

High-volume production is for established brands that need millions of units. Your product sells nationwide or through a few major retailers, and you reorder by the truckload for each SKU on a regular schedule. MetaBrand manages production planning, vendor coordination, and finished product quality control.

Sustainable Packaging FAQ

What is the most sustainable beverage packaging?

It depends on the product and where it travels. Aluminum cans are light and widely recycled. Glass is recyclable but heavy to ship. PET is light but recycled at lower rates. Distribution distance and local recycling programs often decide the answer.

Can I use recycled materials in my packaging?

Yes: recycled PET bottles, aluminum cans with recycled content, and recycled paperboard for secondary packaging. Availability and cost vary, so we source these early.

Are plant-based or compostable beverage packages a good option?

For most beverages, not yet. The options are limited, and many fall short on shelf life or cost more. A compostable package also helps only if your customers can actually compost it.

How can I make environmental claims on my packaging?

Make them specific and back them with evidence, following the FTC's Green Guides. A vague claim like 'eco-friendly' creates legal and reputation risk. Have a compliance specialist review your claims. This is general information, not legal advice.

Does sustainable packaging cost more?

Often, yes, at least up front. Some of that comes back through lighter materials, fewer components, and lower freight. We'll show you the real numbers so you can decide for yourself.

How else can I reduce my beverage's environmental footprint?

Look past the container. Lighter packaging, less plastic in secondary packaging, efficient pallets, and producing closer to your customers all help. Our Edison, New Jersey facility sits in one of the largest shipping service areas in the country, which can shorten routes to East Coast markets.
