Why Choose PET

PET is light, resealable, and shatter-resistant, and it's cheaper to ship than glass. It works best for still and lightly carbonated drinks. For highly carbonated or oxygen-sensitive formulas, we specify pressure-rated or barrier bottles from the start.

The Advantages of PET Bottles

Lower Freight Cost

PET weighs less than glass, so it costs less to ship.

Shatter-Resistant

PET won't break on the filling line or in transit.

Resealable

Screw caps and sports caps let customers drink some now and save the rest.

Hot Fill Options

Heat-set PET bottles handle hot fill for shelf-stable teas, juices, and sports drinks.

Your Path From Concept to Commercial Scale

Whether you're just getting started or preparing for national distribution, MetaBrand provides a clear manufacturing pathway that grows alongside your business.

  1. Path 1

    Hero Samples

Hero Samples are professionally produced, non-saleable proof-of-concept units designed to support early-stage business development. These samples are packaged in your branded container and intended for investor presentations, retailer meetings, influencer outreach, and strategic sales conversations. Hero Samples allow brands to begin generating market interest and securing commercial opportunities before committing to production inventory.

  2. Path 2

    Pilot Manufacturing

Pilot manufacturing runs are smaller production batches built to validate your concept in the market. A pilot run gets your product onto shelves and into consumers' hands without committing to a truckload. Brands use pilot runs for regional distribution trials, retailer sell-in tests, and to confirm that every input works before they scale.

  3. Path 3

    Mid-Tier / Early Scale Co-Packing

Consumers like your product, you've signed two or three distributors in your region, and you're ready to build your first full truckload. Production moves to more automated equipment, so your cost of goods starts to make sense while you still keep cash and inventory in check.

  4. Path 4

    High-Volume Production

High-volume production is for established brands that need millions of units. Your product sells nationwide or through a few major retailers, and you reorder by the truckload for each SKU on a regular schedule. MetaBrand manages production planning, vendor coordination, and finished product quality control.

PET Bottle FAQ

When should I choose PET plastic bottles?

PET is light, shatter-resistant, resealable, and cheaper to ship than glass, which is why it's common for water, sports drinks, juices, and teas. It's a weaker choice for highly carbonated drinks or products that need strong oxygen protection over a long shelf life.

Can PET bottles be hot filled?

Only heat-set PET bottles made for hot fill. Standard PET softens and deforms at hot-fill temperatures.

Can carbonated drinks go in PET bottles?

Yes, in bottles designed to hold pressure. Carbon dioxide slowly escapes through PET, so carbonated drinks in plastic usually have a shorter shelf life than the same drink in a can or glass bottle.

Can I use recycled PET (rPET) bottles?

Yes. Bottles with recycled content are widely available. Their price and supply swing more than virgin PET, so we source them early.

Is PET a good choice for oxygen-sensitive drinks?

Standard PET lets small amounts of oxygen through, which can degrade juices, vitamins, and some functional ingredients over months. Bottles with barrier layers or oxygen scavengers cut that down considerably. If your formula is sensitive, specify one of those from the start.

What PET bottle sizes are available?

Stock PET comes in many sizes, with 12 oz, 16.9 oz, and 20 oz among the most common single-serve options. Custom molds are available if you want a unique shape, at added tooling cost and lead time.
